Premix Manufacturer-2nd Shift – Storm Lake, IA

Furst-McNess Company is seeking a dynamic and assertive individual for the position of Premix Manufacturer-2nd Shift at its Storm Lake, IA.  This individual will be responsible for responsible for manufacturing and packaging premixes adhering to standard operating procedures (SOP) and other regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate bagger, bag scales and closing equipment.
  • Stack bags on pallets.
  • Operate bulk bag filling equipment.
  • Pick raw materials and hand add bag material according to formula.
  • Operate lift truck.
  • As required, operate batching, mixing and liquid system under direct supervision.
  • Keep work area clean; repair broken pallets.
  • Repair all damaged bags.
  • Work safely and use safety equipment as prescribed.
  • Adhere to all procedures and policies.
  • Unload bulk trucks and rail cars.
  • Follow FIFO on raw materials.
  • Check and receive bulk materials when required.
  • Perform other work-related duties as requested or required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Be able to succeed within and adhere to the culture of the Furst-McNess Company.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
  • Education equivalent to high school diploma and six months of basic manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to ascend ladders and various heights using stairs, elevated walkways and/or elevators.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or stoop up to 70 lbs. of material on a regular or continuous basis.
  • Ability to maneuver heavy loads (up to 2,000 lbs. pallets) with a pallet jack; safely operate all equipment along with being a certified forklift operator.
  • Ability to perform cleaning operations while exposed to dusty environment, and ability to wear/use all appropriate protective equipment.
  • Ability to enter confined spaces.
  • Ability to learn and comply with GMP and regulatory requirements imposed on manufacturing facilities by the FDA, OSHA and EPA in regard to manufacturing of food and drug products.
  • Ability to work overtime as requested or required.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work as an effective team member within the premix department and company, as a whole. Willingness to pitch in and do work that may not be a specific part of the job description for the overall good of the department and company.
  • Ability to be flexible. Respect other peoples’ points of view and able to take constructive criticism.

Furst-McNess Company is seeking a dynamic and assertive individual for the positions of Feed Production Operator for our 2nd shift.  This individual will be responsible for responsible for manufacturing and packaging product adhering to standard operating procedures (SOP) and other regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Be able to succeed within and adhere to the culture of the Furst-McNess Company.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Education equivalent to high school diploma.  Basic math required.
  • Ability to communicate, orally and in writing, with co-workers, supervisors and support staff.
  • Ability to ascend ladders and various heights using stairs, elevated walkways and/or elevators.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or stoop up to 70 lbs. of material on a regular or continuous basis.
  • Ability to maneuver heavy loads (up to 2,000 lbs. pallets) with a pallet jack and/or forklift; forklift training and/or certification available on-site.
  • Ability to perform cleaning operations while exposed to dusty environment, and ability to wear/use all appropriate protective equipment.
  • Ability to learn and comply with GMP and regulatory requirements imposed on manufacturing facilities by the FDA, OSHA, and EPA in regard to manufacturing products.
