  • Begin feeding Bova-Breeder minerals two months before stress periods such as calving or breeding.
  • Average daily consumption should be 2 to 2.7 ounces per head, per day.
  • Place in a clean dry feeder near a feed or water source.
  • No more than a 7 to 10-day supply should be put out at one time. This will assure freshness and help maintain adequate consumption.
  • Provide one feeder per 15 to 20 head of animals.
  • Location of feeders is very important. If mineral consumption is too low, placing mineral feeders closer to heavily-traveled areas may improve consumption.
  • Consumption will vary with pasture conditions. Relocate or adjust mineral feeder numbers to either increase or decrease consumption as conditions dictate.
  • Do not feed to sheep or other copper-sensitive species.
