Vanilla, Butter & Nut Cake
3 tsp. Vanilla, Butter & Nut Flavor 2 c. sugar 3 c. flour, sifted 3 eggs, separate, beat whites stiff 1 c. buttermilk* 1 tsp. baking soda ¼ tsp. salt Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 10” tube pan and dust and flour. Have ingredients at room temperature. Cream margarine and sugar thoroughly, mix soda and salt in buttermilk until foamy, adding alternately with the flour to above, mixing after each addition. Add Vanilla, Butter and Nut Flavor and eggs yolks one at a time mixing after each. Gently fold into stiffly beaten egg whites. Put into prepared pan and bake at 350°F. 1 hour or until done. * Use 1 c. sweet milk and 3 tsp. baking powder instead of buttermilk and soda if desired.
