Command
Command is a pH adjuster or acidifier formulated from a unique blend of organic and inorganic acids.

Why use Command?

  • Enhances pH maintenance of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract through acidification
  • Promotes the environment of beneficial lactic acid producing bacteria
  • Proper acidification reduces growth of pathogenic bacteria
  • Increases nutrient digestion for greater animal utilization
  • Improves feed conversion, average daily gain and bottom line profits
  • Reduces the usage of costly medications
When is it used?
  • Formulated to be used in the following areas:
  • Starter diets up to 50 pounds
  • Incoming feeder pigs
  • Stress situations - moving pigs, co-mingling of pigs, environmental changes, etc.
  • Sows during lactation
Command is available in two forms - Feed Grade Additive and Water Soluble Concentrate

Lysine
When corn is plentiful and prices are low, the economics of using L-Lysine in swine rations becomes favorable for producers. The use of L-Lysine enables producers to use more corn and less purchased protein in a ton of complete ration. Crystalline amino acids (L-Lysine) are chemically the same amino acids that occur naturally in soybean meal.

Lysine can be used two ways in a hog ration. First, lysine can be used to increase the lysine content for high lean gain hogs. This means adding additional lysine to the soybean meal already in the ration. A second way lysine can be used is to replace 100 lbs. of soybean meal. As a rule of thumb, 100 pounds of soybean meal can be replaced by 97 pounds of corn or other feed grain and 3 pounds of L-Lysine Monohydro-chloride in one ton of feed. This enables the use of more homegrown grain and less purchased protein in each ton of feed.

  • Crystalline Lysine in the ration provides the following benefits:
  • Use 97 pounds more homegrown grain per ton
  • Lower out-of-pocket cost
  • Save 100 pounds of soybean meal per ton of ration
  • Stretches soybean meal dollars–makes purchased SBM last longer
  • Equal production performance
  • Compatible with premix program (reduce protein without reducing vitamins and minerals)
The use of crystalline amino acids depends primarily on economics. If the price of 97 pounds of grain and 3 pounds of lysine is less than the cost of 100 pounds of soybean meal (44%), economics favor using the lysine product. If the cost of the corn-lysine mix is greater than the cost of 100 pounds of soybean meal, crystalline lysine should not be used.
