Heifer Premixes
MAXI-GROWTH Dairy Heifer Premix R (1145) or B (1146) The heifer premixes #1145 and #1146 provide the optimum levels of minerals and vitamins, combined with the efficiency of Rumensin or Bovatec, to be mixed with home grown grains for a balanced ration at an economic price. Dairy Heifer premixes are complete premixes designed to meet all the requirements of a rapidly growing heifer. They provide high levels of minerals, trace minerals and vitamins to insure good growth and health. Feeding 0.33 pounds of either of the above premixes will provide 200 milligrams of Rumensin or Bovatec respectfully per head daily. The use of Rumensin or Bovatec (ionophores) in dairy heifer rations has been shown to improve daily gains and to reduce the time and cost of heifer development. Feeding ionophores has no harmful effects on milk quality, quantity or the reproductive performance of the animal. Ionophores are antibiotics (coccidiostats) which alter rumen fermentation, by increasing proprionic acid and decreasing acetic acid to help improve the rate of gain in heifers.

Ruminant 2000 – B (1144) Ruminant 2000 - B is an economic source of vitamins and minerals to provide an outstanding nutrient balance. This product has a lower feeding rate for a lower cost per head per day. Feeding 0.20 pounds of 1144 per head per day will provide 200 milligrams of Bovatec. Bovatec helps to increase gains for better feed efficiency and does not show any harmful effects on milk quantity, quality or performance as heifers enter the milking herd.

BovaStocker 6B (5206-50) BovaStocker 6B is specially formulated for free-choice feeding. It is ideal for pasture situations when daily grain feeding is not an option. The 5206-50 product is a complete vitamin and mineral package for the growing dairy heifer. Feeding directions: Heifers will consume approximately 3 to 4 oz. of 5206-50 per head per day. This will provide 135 to 180 milligrams of Bovatec. The premix should be placed in a clean, dry feeder near a feed or water source. No more than a 7 to 10 day supply should be available at one time. This will help to insure freshness and help to maintain adequate consumption rates. If intake is low, move the feeder closer to the water source or resting area. Conversely, if the intake is too high, move the feeder farther away.

Heifer Supplement B (1147) Heifer Supplement B can be fed to calves weighing over 550 pounds. In addition to providing the same vitamin and mineral nutrition as the Ruminant 2000 B product, product 1147 also contains the growth enhancing Fermenten product. Fermenten has been proven to accelerate growth rates to allow for earlier breeding and quicker entry into the milking string. Feeding .75 pounds of this product will result in the daily recommended level of premix and Fermenten.
